Sweet\u2026."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cDave\u201d was thrilled.\u00a0 It was Sunday night and he was down $300 for the week betting sports.\u00a0\u00a0 Weird.\u00a0 He was happy being down sports betting?\u00a0 Was he a glutton for punishment?\u00a0 Possibly.\u00a0 But Dave was right to be happy and had adopted the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20221205050747\/http:\/\/sharpedgepicks.com\/about\/sharp-edge-approach\/\">Sharp Approach<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Dave was stuck $900 Sunday morning as a few strong hockey plays didn\u2019t go his way (shootout losses, bad bounces in 1 goal games, etc).\u00a0 He entered the NFL Sunday in a poor head space, feeling \u2018unlucky\u2019.\u00a0 He thought he was due to win and thought about pressing (increasing) his bet size to get even.\u00a0 But, he didn\u2019t, he stuck to the Sharp Approach \u2013 level headed wagering.\u00a0 He saw value in only one NFL underdog. \u00a0He bet $300 ATS and $135 ML at 2.25-1 \u2013 the same amounts he usually bet on what he deemed to be solid value plays.\u00a0 The dog won (in a close game) and Dave won $600 total.\u00a0 His net weekly loss was now \u2018only\u2019 $300.<\/p>\n<p>Unlike \u201cMike\u201d (see article \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20221205050747\/http:\/\/sharpedgepicks.com\/its-a-lock\/\">It\u2019s a Lock<\/a>\u201d), Dave didn\u2019t let his emotions get the better of him and didn\u2019t act on the urge to get even.\u00a0 He made a strong value play and caught the break of winning a close game. \u00a0Dave is focused on the long term and understands losing $300 in a wk is 3x better than being down the $900 he had been down.\u00a0 He isn\u2019t thinking \u2018had I bet more I\u2019d be even\u2019, he\u2019s thinking \u2018I was down a lot, stuck to my Sharp Approach and am now down a little and grinding away\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Going forward, \u201cDave\u201d can methodically bet his favourite value plays without emotion.\u00a0 He is not likely to chase and should enjoy more success than \u201cMike\u201d long term.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"tmnf_excerpt\"><p>\u201cDave\u201d was thrilled.\u00a0 It was Sunday night and he was down $300 for the week betting sports.\u00a0\u00a0 Weird.\u00a0 He was happy being down sports betting?\u00a0 Was he a glutton for punishment?\u00a0 Possibly.\u00a0 But Dave was right to be happy and had adopted the\u00a0Sharp Approach.
